Por Que me gusta los lenguas!

My desire to study foreign language can be briefly described in two words; people and places. It is a great desire of my heart to serve people, but how can one serve people if he or she doesn’t know their language or their culture. SIUE provides unique opportunities such as intense language courses and extra curricular activities to immerse oneself in the language and culture of several different groups of people. My other desire is to go to diverse places after acquiring that knowledge. There are also opportunities for this very thing at SIUE. There are several study abroad programs that will allow me and many others to experience the people and places first hand. There are many more reasons why I love to study foreign language, but my heart for it dwells on the premise of serving people and going diverse places while serving Jesus Christ my savior and Lord in the process. I also believe that even if someone doesn’t want to know it all that foreign language is still something that everyone should get a taste of.
